Halloween is Almost Here!

You know, I’ve been thinking about the Holidaze. Kate and I have already decorated for Halloween. We actually got started before September even ended. Bright and early, Saturday September 27th, I drug the Halloween storage containers out of the garage and we got started. I had to scare the dogs first. It’s actually a family tradition, has been for years ever since I got this scary looking werewolf mask.

It’s a rubber whole head type of mask with fake hair and everything. I got it….jeez, I don’t know how long ago, more than five years. We were still in Northern California. I think I got it at Target. We had just got back to the house and the dogs were milling around in the kitchen while we unloaded the shopping bags. Four medium sized Shelties hoping for a handout. They were standing there, all watching me as calm as could be when I took the mask out of the bag and pulled it over my head. Immediately the dogs went ballistic! Barking growling, their hackles standing straight up, their eyes wide and wild! They must’ve thought the werewolf ate me or something. It’s a good thing that I smelled like…me. Things could’ve got ugly! Well, every year since then, the dogs and I relive that very special time. Kate thinks it’s very funny that they still freak out. She says their humoring me. Which they probably are. They don’t seem as frightened as they use to.

Anyway, where was I…oh yeah, I drug the bins out of the garage (scared the dogs) and we dug in. It’s always fun to get out the Holidaze storage containers. There are things like the mask that have been in there, almost forever but the things I especially like are the things that we got new last year. We always hit the clearance sales after each of the Holidaze and pick up a few more decorations for the next year. So each year there’s always something new!

This year we’re doing our shopping before the Holidaze at Gifts by Sasha.com. It’s as good as a clearance sale! Gifts by Sasha has over 3,000 unique items in their collections and due to the fact that they have sooo many repeat shoppers, they are able to price everything just a little bit above wholesale! That’s right all of their Holiday, Home Décor and Special Gift Items, EVERYTHING at near wholesale prices!

I’ve been looking at the  Halloween Garden Stake Set ! We need something for our front walkway. I’d also like to get the Halloween Activity Books for a Halloween Martini Party! It’ll be cool to have everyone dress up in strange costumes bring unusual snacks and have weird drinks with dry ice fog coming out of them. Then we can mess around with the activity books, have drinking games and scare the hell out of the Trick or Treaters!  Yeah! HALLOWEEN! HALLOWEEN! HALLOWEEN!

After you leave here, you should check out Gifts By Sasha.com. You can do all of your Holidaze shopping there! You’ll save lots of money, especially right now! To help in these tough economic times, Gifts By Sasha is offering a 10% off coupon to the first 50 people who register (link). This is in addition to our already low, near wholesale prices. When you register you become a Dear Friend and will be eligible to receive special sales discounts throughout the year!

Before you leave, check out Things That Go Bump In The Night! and get into the SPIRIT of things! Have a safe and exciting Halloween!
